Sunday Post 7th Edition

The Sunday Post is a weekly Meme hosted by
It's a chance to share news,
a post to recap the past week on your blog,
 showcase books
and things we have received and
share news about what is coming up
on our blog for the week ahead

Last Week on Melissa's Midnight Musings:
(Click on the links to be taken to the specific posts)

  • I reviewed The Sugar Frosted Nutsack by Mark Leyner
  • I brought you my Behind the Blog Post: The topic was Sleeping Habits
  • And, last but certainly not least, I  posted a double review and giveaway of The Legend of Mickey Tussler and Sophomore Campaign by Frank Nappi. I have 2 sets of the two books to give away to 2 lucky readers! The giveaway is limited to US readers only (sorry!) Click here and enter for your chance to win! (As of the time I wrote this post there were only 4 people entered to win so the odds are pretty good!) These are wonderful, powerful books that are good reads whether you like baseball or not.
Coming Up This Week:
  • Review of Misfortune Cookie by Michele Gorman
  • Review of Elemental Magic by Angela Wallace
  • Behind the Blog: This week's topic will be Ice Cream Here's the blurb if you'd like to write a post and link up on Friday!   FayeKathe and I would love it if you joined us for BTB:
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Everyone loves ice cream right? What's your favorite flavor? What's your best memory associated with ice cream? Have you ever tried a flavor that you absolutely hated? In relation to books: Do you like characters that are the plain, simple, "vanilla" type characters, or do you like characters that are a little more complex and flavorful? What flavor of ice cream would you characterize your all time favorite book character as and why?

Book Haul:
(Clicking Links will take you to the Goodreads Descriptions for these books)

This week I had quite a few more posts, but still no reviews. (I promise that I'm working on some!)

Last Week on Melissa's Midnight Musings:
Coming up this week:
  • The only definite feature that I will have posted for this week is Behind the Blog. This week's topic deals with Friday the 13th Here's the blurb for this week in case you'd like to write a post on the topic and link up:   Friday the 13th is considered to be an unlucky day in many cultures, with several superstitions surrounding it. Do you believe that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day? What are some of the superstitions (if any,) you associate with Friday the 13th? In relation to books: What are some books you’ve read that deal with superstitions or Friday the 13th?
Depending on what reading I'm able to get done I'm hoping to have at least one review done as well.

This Week's Haul:

Won From Goodreads:

That's all! Which is probably a good thing because I desperately need to catch up on reading before my TBR pile gets any more out of control. I didn't borrow or buy any books this week!

What did you get this week?

This past week I had another week with only 2 posts....I'm such a bad blogger right now!

Last week on Melissa's Midnight Musings

  • One was a post reminding everyone to enter the giveaway for Dark Passage (that giveaway has now ended and the winners will be announced shortly once they have all gotten back to me)
  • My second post of the week was my Behind the Blog post. This week's theme/questions revolved around animals. Behind the Blog Animals and Alcohol
Coming up this week:
  • A post about Canada Day (this has actually already posted, it was written and scheduled before my Sunday Post)
  • Dark Passage Giveaway winner announcement
  • Liebster Award Nomination post (HotCoffeeBooksandChocoBar has nominated me, and I will have my post answering their questions and nominating fellow bloggers)
  • A post about 4th of July
  • This week's Behind the Blog: This week we're just doing a free write, you can write about anything you'd like just put a personal touch on it, connect it to your life somehow.
I know, I don't have any reviews scheduled but I promise that I will have some soon. I am reading, and I am working on them even though it may not seem like it.

This Week's Haul:

Another light week for me but that's okay, hopefully I'll actually get caught up a little...

These items are not all book related but I felt that I had to include them anyways, because it's fun to show off what you get in the mail,  books or not.

And of course even though I took the pictures twice, Blogger will now not let me upload them! GRRR!
I'll try and come back later and add in the pictures I actually took.

Won:
I won a 10 dollar Amazon Giftcard and a swag pack of cool items autographed by Carrie Ann Ryan in a giveaway over at Reading Romances

I also won
Burn for Burn

Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
I won this in a giveaway at RiveraRunsThroughIt

Gifted:

Even though it's not book related I'm including this anyway

My very sweet boyfriend bought me the first season of Pretty Little Liars on DVD

I also got a super neat postcard from my friend Karla, which she made using a program called Postagram. I'm guessing this is very similar to Instagram.

I did not buy, or borrow any books this week

What did the post person bring you this week? Please leave links so I can check out your hauls!
