Today I'm excited to bring you some more information on the new meme that I mentioned in my previous post, Behind the Blog
I'm a curious person by nature. I like to know the ins and outs of things, places, and people.
In the world of blogging, there's a fine line between revealing too much about yourself, and just enough. When I first started this blog, I thought I would write solely about book related topics. But then I realized that I wanted to personalize it a bit as well.
Around that same time, that I was thinking of how to personalize my blog, Kathe had asked a similar question on her blog's Facebook Page. She asked " “I’d like to know what you like seeing in book blogs, or what you prefer for your own. Do you like memes or prefer to have their use minimized? Do you like it when book bloggers talk about their personal lives or do you want them to stick to their ‘area of expertise’?”
What an awesome question!
I wasn't quite sure how to go about personalizing my blog, but I knew I wanted to try. I started thinking that I wanted create a meme that made blogging a bit more personal. I put out some feelers on the Facebook page for my blog about the possibility of collaboration. Both Faye and Kathe responded. We shared a few ideas amongst ourselves. It turns out that Faye and I had extremely similar ideas for a meme. We had been inspired by Kathe's question.
We must have all been on the same wavelength because we exchanged a few ideas and Behind the Blog came to be!
Before I say anything else about the meme, I have to give HUGE thanks and credit to both Faye and Kathe. My family emergency happened right after we started talking about this idea, so they have done all of the work behind it up to now. Plus they been so supportive and helpful during this difficult time, I can't thank them enough.
I'm trying to slowly get back into blogging, and if nothing else, I will work on just this meme for now, because I'm so thrilled to be a part of this co-hosting trio and I don't want to miss out on the fun!.

What exactly is Behind the Blog, you ask?
Well, Behind the Blog is a new meme that's designed to put more of a personal touch on blogging. Each Friday, Kathe, Faye and I will post a new topic, idea or question that we hope will spark a discussion. We will each explore the topic as it relates to ourselves and our blogs, books, film or any other media we are interested in.
We also hope that you will take topic we've provided, or please feel free to use a topic of your own choosing, and let us know a little more about yourself. There are no rules for the structure of these posts. You can write about anything that inspires you. You can choose to relate the topics back to books films or other media as mentioned before, or you don't have to talk about books or media at all! Just free write if you'd like.
There will be a linky at the bottom of each Behind The Blog post so that you can link up your posts and share them with everyone!
Hopefully this isn't too confusing. I'll try and give an example to help explain it a little better.
For Example:
Say the topic of the week is baking.
If I were to write about baking I could tell you about when I started baking, what my favorite things to bake are, maybe give you some stories of my baking (mis)adventures. Then I could talk about books I've read that have characters who enjoy baking or maybe a good film on cooking.
Like I said, there are no rules. We just want you to have fun with it! Well, we'd also like you to make it personal. The point is to get to know the writer behind the blog on a personal level.
For further explanations you can check out Kathe's post on it as well as Faye's post on the new meme as well.
I'm beyond excited to get started on this fantastic adventure with my wonderful cohosts! I'll have my first BTB post up later today. (Better late than never, right?)
