Behind the Blog

Behind The Blog is a meme that's designed to put more of a personal touch on the task of blogging. To help us get to know the real person behind the blog. The three co-hosts, Faye, Kathe, and myself will provide a different topic, idea, or question every week that the blogger can then relate to himself or herself, as well as to the books, films, or other media in which he or she is interested!

Here's how it works:
Say the topic of the week is Baking: I would write a post telling you what my favorite things to bake are, what flavors go well together, maybe even throw in some of my baking misadventures somewhere. Then I would relate the topic of baking to books or films, maybe highlighting some books where characters also loved to bake, or highlighting a film which involved some sort of baking disaster.

Whatever you decide to do, the point is to make it personal. The point is getting to know about the person behind the blog.

The three of us know that there are people who like talking about themselves, as well as those who would prefer to keep details about themselves under wraps. The meme is made for both of them, in a way, as those who want to talk about themselves can do so in a generally scheduled post each week, while those who don’t… Well, it always does help to allow others to get to know them better. Since the weekly posts will begin on a Friday, the meme won’t pose as a distraction to blog readers, either; that is, they aren’t meant to draw attention away from the main purpose of the blog, but rather to be a supplement of some sort. Besides:
“Maybe we should always start everything from the inside and work to the outside, and not from the outside to the inside. What d’you think?”
