Keeping a Secret

There are many reasons why people keep a secret. For example, Lola, in The Lola Diaries Drama Jerk, doesn’t want anyone to find out her secret about still wetting the bed at night. She knows that it’s not “normal” to be still wetting her bed, and she is embarrassed about it. I don’t consider this a bad secret that Lola is keeping. It’s a secret that is her business and her business only.
Most people tell little white lies on a daily basis. I think people do this because they don’t want to hurt other people’s feelings. I would also consider these type of secrets minor that don’t really hurt people.
In my other two adult books written under the pen name of EL Black secrets run rampant throughout the stories. From cheating to secret drug use, these are the type of secrets that can harm everyone involved. I think when you’re in a close relationship with anyone, people should be honest with each other. I’m a firm believer that it takes a long time to build trust in a relationship and only one big lie to destroy it forever.
