It's Been Almost A Year...

Since I got married.

My first wedding anniversary is on Thursday. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. Time has flown by.

Unfortunately I haven't gotten to spend as much time with my husband as I would have liked, but we're much further in our process of getting to be together than we were. (For anyone who might not know, my husband is Canadian, and I live in the US. I'm currently in the process of trying to immigrate to Canada, so that we can be together.)

What's even crazier is that my husband and I have been together for 10 years in September.

My plane should have already taken off and I should be on my way to Canada see him already, but the flight has been delayed for about 3 more hours, til 8:25, so I'll just have to be a little more patient and wait a little longer.

Since I had to work this morning, and have been awake since 5 AM, that's going to make for a very long night. Here's to hoping that I can sleep on the plane.

Flying Away For A While

I'm getting ready to fly up to Vancouver B.C. to see my husband for the first time in about 7 months. I'll be leaving later this morning and I can't wait!

Unfortunately I will be a bit of a zombie seeing as I just finished up a stretch of working 7 days in a row.

Although it won't be a long trip, just six days,  I'm super glad to get to spend time with him for at least a little while. This whole long distance marriage thing is hard. I probably won't read a whole lot while I'm there, but I do have plenty of books on my Kindle if I do decide to take a reading break.

I have one upcoming post scheduled that includes a giveaway being hosted by the publisher so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

What are your weekend plans?

Checking in Again

Hello to anyone who might actually see this.

I know it's been almost three months since my last post. So I figured I'd check in again. I'm reading, albeit very slowly.

Life is just too hectic right now to put the time into reading or blogging the way I want to. Work is always busy, and so is life. I feel bad that this blog has been abandoned the way it has, but something had to give, and unfortunately this was it.

I'm hoping that with New Year's coming up it will inspire me to set some blogging, reading, and life goals and stick to them. Unfortunately my reading goals for this year are going to fall woefully short. I was going to try to get 75 books read this year. Between work, and wedding planning, and everything else, I have only managed to read 18 books this year. More than the average person might read, but painfully few books for me. I'm thinking that I'll get at least one more book in before the end of the year, possibly two. We'll see. I'm still not sure where I'm going to set next year's reading goals at either.

One thing I am sure of at the moment is that tomorrow on the blog I will be giving my readers a bit of a glimpse into my personal life. My blog description states that this is mostly about books, but that I like to throw in the occasional personal post and tomorrow I'll be doing just that.

Since I've been married almost 4 months already, I'd say it's about time that I got to writing reviews for some of the people that helped out in the process and one of them was our officiant Barbara. Tomorrow on the blog I will be featuring a review of our ceremony, so come by and take a look!

I hope everyone is well, and that you are all in the middle of reading excellent books at the moment.

Happy reading!
