March Reading Recap

March Reading List

I can't believe March has gone by so fast. March has been another light reading month for me unfortunately. I've just been busy with a lot of little stuff that needs to get done.  In March I managed to read 5 books. Here's the list complete with links that will take you to Goodreads so you can add them to your shelves if you'd like.

* I did not review The Best of Sommer Marsden here on my blog because it is a collection of erotic stories, and I didn't want to offend anyone. Also, I didn't know if by reviewing a book with erotic content I would have to give my blog an adult content warning. I didn't want to take the chance of having to do that so I only reviewed the book on Goodreads.

I also wanted to say that I know that my blog has been a little "giveaway-centric" lately and I do apologize for that. I'm about 25 percent of the way through a book called Strange Places right now, so as soon as I finish that the review will be posted.  If you have a monthly reading recap post leave me a link in the comments so I can check it out!

End of the Month Recap

So it's the end of February (how did that happen??) and even with the extra day, I only managed three books. I'm really hoping that next month will be a lot better. But, three is better than none. The three books I read this month are:

In My Shoes by Adrian Stephens
Letters in Cardboard Boxes by Abby Slovin
The New Death and Others by James Hutchings

( I'm being lazy and can't be bothered to put links in right now)

How did everyone else's reading numbers stack up this month?

January in Review

I'm still trying to get settled, and unpack a million boxes. I didn't manage any today, but that's because I worked on getting through a backlog of emails which is mostly caught up and now I'm going through the backlog of blogs in my Google reader. But, I wanted to do a quick recap of what I read in January.

As a positive for today, I won two books from Goodreads. When they arrive I'll actually have to do an In My Mailbox type post. Now that things have gotten a tiny bit more settled I'm hoping to start on at least one of the 4 ebooks I have been sent by authors for review. But before I get to that here's what I read in January. (I'm going to try and post GR links but linking up does not always work for me for some reason.

1. Dirk Danger Loves Life
2. Peas and Thank You
3. A Secret Kept
4. Charmed Volume 1
5. New Moon
6. Eclipse

As you can see, it was a bit of a light reading month but my page total isn't too bad and I'm hoping next month will be better.

December books

I was going to just start this in the new year, but I figured I might as well start now. Each month I'll post a list of  books I've read. Even with Christmas and everything I managed to read quite a bit this month.

1. Mirror Image by Jeff Marriotte
2. Beware What you Wish by Diana Gallagher
3. Working it Out: A Journey of Love, Loss, and Hope by Abby Rike
4. High Spirits by Scott Ciencin
5. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
6. Twisted by Sara Shepard
7. The Secret Lives of Wives: What it Really Takes to Stay Married by Iris Krasnow
8. The Distant Hours by Kate Morton
9. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
10. Ruthless by Sara Shepard

Of those books I read this month, my favorite is a toss up between Working it Out, and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Of all the books I read this year, I don't think I can narrow down just one of my favorites so I'll list the ten I liked the most in no particular order:

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (Amazing! The next book in this series is my most anticipated for next year)
Room by Emma Donoghue
Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah
Yankee Doodle Dixie by Lisa Patton (Part of a series but great as a standalone)
Annabel by Kathleen Winters
Lies That Chelsea Handler told me by Chelsea Handler
Working it Out: A Journey of Love, Loss, and Hope by Abby Rike
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
If You Ask Me (and of Course You Won't) by Betty White
Badass by Shannen Doherty

I guess that insomnia helps with reading goals sometimes. I can't wait for the new year to start so that I can get going on all of my challenges.

I've got a head cold so I probably won't be going out to celebrate tonight so there's a chance that I may finish another book, we'll see.

I hope everyone has fun and safe New Year's celebrations.
